DELHI TRAFFIC POLICE VMS PROJECT- 2014

Introduction

As part of their Disaster Management Plan, Delhi Traffic Police intended to purchase and install 50 Variable Message Signs (VMS) at 50 locations in Delhi. Out of these 50 numbers, 41 pole mounted VMS will be of 3mtr x 1.5Mtr size while remaining 9 Gantry mounted VMS shall be of 5Mtr x 2Mtr size. All these VMS will be connected to Traffic Monitoring Center (TMC) over wireless(3G) Network. These EN12966 certified P20 Full-colour VMS shall be under Operations & Maintenance for 7 years. Auto-dimming/luminance Control, pixel failure detection with self-test diagnostic, local message storage, real-time log/report, variable font type/size, User-friendly Control Room software, Travel Time estimate, Weather information, Route guidance, Emergency information, multi-lingual display facility with capability to display real-time messages in Text/Pictogram format from Traffic Monitoring Center (TMC) etc are some of the salient features of these VMS

Major Milestone

• 01st September 2016– Work Order for Supply, Installation, Commissioning and Maintenance of Variable Message signs from Delhi Traffic Police.
• 27th June 2017- Completion of SITC of Variable Message signs.
